The "NetWare Directory Services Sync Root (+NWDSSYNCROOT)" option is used to specify the containers beneath the starting context to include in the synchronization process. Only the contexts defined here will be synchronized with Unoverica Message Transport's directory. If this option is enabled but is not defined, then all containers beneath the context defined in the "NetWare Directory Services Context (+NWDSCONTEXT)" option will be synchronized. If you wish to include a specific context, you can define it explicitly by using the "O=" or "OU=" context syntax.
NOTE: Any containers beneath the context defined here will be included in the directory synchronization.
NOTE: You can define this option multiple times if you need to. This allows you to specify a starting context such as "Los Angeles", and only include the "Sales" and "Support" contexts underneath "Los Angeles", for example.
The "NetWare Directory Services Sync Root (+NWDSSYNCROOT)" option is defined through the use of Unoverica Message Transport's UCMCON.NLM management tool. To load UCMCON, type the following command at the NetWare console prompt:
:LOAD UCMCON <Enter>
You will be presented with a screen similar to the one shown in Figure 4.6 below:
|
Select the "Configuration" menu item and press <Enter>. You will then be presented with a set of configuration menu choices similar to the one shown in Figure 4.7 below:
|
Select the "Options" menu option and press <Enter>. You will then be presented with a list of the currently defined options, similar to the one shown in Figure 4.8 below:
|
Use the <Up>, <Dn>, <PgUp> and <PgDn> keys to scroll through the list of currently-defined options, looking for an entry titled "NetWare Directory Services Sync Root (+NWDSSYNCROOT). If this option is not listed, press <Ins> to display a list of the undefined options. You will be presented with a screen similar to the one shown in Figure 4.9 below:
|
If the "NetWare Directory Services Sync Root (+NWDSSYNCROOT)" option was not available in the list of currently-defined options, then select it from the list of undefined options and press <Enter>. If the "NetWare Directory Services Sync Root (+NWDSSYNCROOT)" option was already in the list of currently-defined options, then select it from that list and press <Enter>. You should see a screen similar to the one shown in Figure 4.10 below:
|
You can specify an NDS context that you wish to include in the directory synchronization, or you can leave the option blank, indicating that all containers underneath the context defined in the "NetWare Directory Services Context (+NWDSCONTEXT)" option should be included in the directory synchronization.
Once you have specified a starting context, press <Enter> to enable the option, and then press <Esc> to close the dialog box. If this option was not already listed in the currently-enabled list of options, then it will be added to that list automatically.
For more information on the "NetWare Directory Services Sync Root (+NWDSSYNCROOT)" option, refer to section F.2.26 NetWare Directory Services Sync Root (+NWDSSYNCROOT).
NOTE: This option can be defined multiple times to allow multiple containers to be included in the directory synchronization. If you need to define additional containers, repeat the steps described above as needed.
STEP: To continue to the next step in the configuration process, go to section 4.2.2 Enabling the Directory.
