There are three basic operations that you can perform on the alias account database:
NOTE: By default, no alias accounts exist in the directory.
To create a new alias, press <Ins>. If this is the first alias account, you will be presented with a dialog box that allows you to define the mail-specific attributes of that alias, similar to the one shown in Figure 4.35 below:
|
If an alias already exists in the directory, then you will be presented with a new menu, similar to the one shown in Figure 4.36 below:
|
To create a new alias account, select the "Add Address" menu option and press <Enter>. You will then be presented with the alias account detail form, similar to the one shown in Figure 4.35 above.
The various fields in this form define an alias user that will be used for incoming mail. The fields in this form are detailed in section G.4 Managing Unoverica Message Transport Alias Accounts. The only fields you must complete are "Mail Name" and "Active". The other fields are not required for normal operation, and are for advanced use only.
To modify an existing alias account, select it from the list of aliases shown in Figure 4.34, and press <Enter>.
If you wish to disable or delete an existing alias account, you can either temporarily disable it, or delete it altogether. To disable an alias account, select it from the list of aliases shown in Figure 4.34, and press <Enter>. Select the "Active" field as shown in Figure 4.35 and set it to "No". Press <Esc> to close the alias detail form, thereby temporarily disabling the alias account.
To delete the alias account, select it from the list of aliases shown in Figure 4.34, and press <Del>. This will remove the alias account and all recipients from the internal database.
STEP: If you need to manage another alias account, repeat the steps described above. If you need to manage an alias recipient, go to section 4.4.2.2 Managing Alias Recipients. If you need to manage aliases stored in external text files, go to section 4.4.3 Managing External Alias Files. To continue the configuration process, go to section 4.4.4 Modifying the System Management Alias Accounts.
