TCP/IP and IPX protocols can both use the same network adapter and LAN driver. Before you can load TCP/IP or bind it to the LAN driver, you will need to reload the LAN driver using the appropriate frame type.
Refer to the configuration worksheet, and determine the name of the LAN driver, the LOAD parameters required by the LAN driver, the frame type to use for TCP/IP, and the name that you wish to assign this instance of the LAN driver. Enter this information at the NetWare console prompt:
:LOAD (Driver) (Parameters) FRAME=(Frame Type) NAME=(Name) <Enter>
An example command that uses information from the sample worksheet would appear as:
:LOAD SMC8000 PORT=300 INT=3 MEM=CC000 FRAME=ETHERNET_II NAME=SMC-TCPIP <Enter>
This command would reload the SMC8000 LAN driver, using the same hardware settings as the previous instance of the same LAN driver used for IPX, with an ETHERNET_II frame type, and give it the name of "SMC-TCPIP."
STEP: To continue to the next step in the configuration process, go to section 2.3.2.2 Load the TCP/IP Protocol.
