Before you begin the synchronization process, you must enable the "Use Directory (+DIRECTORY)" option. This option tells Unoverica Message Transport that incoming mail and POP3 logins should be verified against the users in Unoverica Message Transport’s internal directory, and not compared against user accounts found in the NetWare bindery.
WARNING: If you do not enable this option, user accounts will continue to be verified against the NetWare bindery, regardless of the user accounts stored in Unoverica Message Transport’s directory.
This is achieved through the use of Unoverica Message Transport’s UCMCON.NLM management tool. To load UCMCON, type the following command at the NetWare console prompt:
:LOAD UCMCON <Enter>
You will be presented with a screen similar to the following:

Select the "Configuration" menu item and press <Enter>. You will then be presented with a set of configuration menu choices similar to the following:

Select the "Options" menu option and press <Enter>. You will then be presented with a list of the currently defined options, similar to the following:

Use the <Up>, <Dn>, <PgUp> and <PgDn> keys to scroll through the list of currently-defined options, looking for an entry titled "Use Directory (+Directory)". If this option is not listed, press <Ins> to display a list of the undefined options. You will be presented with a screen similar to the following:

If the "Use Directory (+Directory)" option was not available in the list of currently-defined options, then select it from the list of undefined options and press <Enter>. If the "Use Directory (+Directory)" option was already in the list of currently-defined options, then select it from that list and press <Enter>. You should see a screen similar to the following:

You can select either "Yes" or "No" for this option. Selecting "No" disables the use of Unoverica Message Transport’s internal directory for user accounts, while selecting "Yes" enables the use of Unoverica Message Transport’s internal directory but disables the use of the NetWare bindery for user accounts.
Select the "Yes" option and press <Enter> to enable the option, and then press <Esc> to close the dialog box. If this option was not already listed in the currently-enabled list of options, then it will be added to that list automatically. Continue pressing <Esc> until you exit UCMCON and are returned to the NetWare console prompt.
