Not all accounts need to receive mail. For example, some NetWare applications create their own user accounts, and these accounts probably do not need to be defined in the mail system. Although you do not have to disable these accounts, it is good management to do so, preventing any unnecessary mail from being delivered, and closing any potential security gaps that may exist as a result of these accounts having mailboxes on the system.
To disable a user account, you can either delete it entirely or simply flag it as inactive. Unoverica Corporation recommends the latter approach, as inactive users cannot receive mail, although this decision can be reversed if needed easier than recreating the user account from scratch.
To delete a user account, select it from the list of users as shown in Figure 4.22, and press <Del>.
To mark a user as inactive, select it from the list of users as shown in Figure 4.22 and press <Enter>. You will see a user detail form for the user, similar to the following:

Figure 4.25: UCMCON's user detail form.
Select the "Active" field, and change the value to "NO". Press <Esc> to close the form.
STEP: If you need to disable or delete another user account, repeat the steps listed above. If you need to add a new user account to the directory, go to section 4.3.1 Adding a New User. If you need to modify an existing user account, go to section 4.3.2 Modifying an Existing User. To continue the configuration process, go to section 4.4 Managing Alias Accounts.
