6.1 Advanced Configuration Options

In addition to the SMTP mail routing issues described in Chapter 5: Configuring Mail Routing, there are many other important areas to examine when optimizing Unoverica Message Transport for environment. Among these issues are:

• Optimizing the mail queues for your environment. For information on how to fine-tune the primary and secondary delivery queues, refer to section 6.2 Optimizing the Mail Queues.
  
  
• Managing the spool and queue directories. For information on how to move the mail directories, refer to section 6.3 Managing the Queue Directories.
  
  
• Enhance the mail server’s security. For more information on this subject, refer to section 6.4 Increasing the Mail System’s Security.
  
  
• Managing the connection timeouts. For information on the various connection timers and how they can be managed, refer to section 6.5 Optimizing the TCP, POP3 and SMTP Connection Timeouts.
