F.2.24 Multiplier for priority increments (Oz)

Description:

SENDMAIL uses a priority-based algorithm when determining which messages in a queue should be sent first. The priority value is determined by the size of the message, the number of recipients, and the priority as defined by the sender during message creation.

Messages with the lowest priority value are processed before messages with larger priority values. Thus, smaller messages with less recipients will get processed before larger messages with many recipients.

The "Oz" option determines a multiplier to be used against the priority defined by the message sender. For example, a priority of 1 will be multiplied by this value (default is 1800), resulting in a lower value than a message marked with a priority of 2.

Values:

0 - 1215752191

Default:

1800

Notes:

Setting this option to zero will result in no multiplication of the existing priority.

For information on other options that affect out-bound mail delivery, refer to sections 7 Checkpoint the queue (OC), 8 Delivery Mode (Od), 15 Increment priority per job processed (OZ), 16 Interval between queue runs (-q), 17 Limit life of a message in the queue (OT), 22 Maximum Primary Queue Processes (+MAXPRIQPROC), 23 Maximum Secondary Queue Processes (+MAXSECQPROC), 28 Penalize large recipient lists (Oy), 29 Primary Queue Priority Threshold (+PRIQPRTYTHRSH), and 30 Queue everything for safety (Os).
