Unoverica Message Transport
Version 2.90 (Freeware)
Overview
Unoverica Message Transport is the first open, standards-based Mail Transport Agent (MTA)
available for Novell® NetWare® Servers. It was developed to allow an SMTP POP Mail User
Agent (MUA) to operate in environments with limited or no access to a Unix mail server.
Unoverica Message Transport is based on the popular Unix versions of Berkeley Sendmail (SMTP)
and Berkeley-Qualcomm QPOP (POP3) mail services in widespread use throughout the Internet.
This assures reliable, consistent performance when communicating with other standards-based mail
systems. Unoverica Message Transport retains, and even extends, the flexibility of these
implementations. Unlike its Unix counterparts, however, Unoverica Message Transport is extremely
easy to install and configure.
Architecture

Unoverica Message Transport leverages your investment by using the pre-existing NetWare®
backbone to provide a cost-effective, scalable, client/server messaging solution. Unoverica Message
Transport runs directly on the NetWare® Server as an NLM and does not require additional,
dedicated PCs, mail routers, or gateways. An efficient design permits a single server which provides
NetWare® file and print services to also be used to provide mail services to a small workgroup,
branch office, or an entire department with remote users.
Workstations running commercial quailty, standards-based mail clients communicate with
Unoverica Message Transport via the TCP/IP included with NetWare®. The same mail client
software, when used with inexpensive dialup routers and NetWare Connect, extends mail access to
remote users.
Strict adherence to recognized standards ensures that Unoverica Message Transport can
communicate with other mail systems both within your organization, and beyond.
