Year 2000 Statement of ComplianceAll Unoverica products are Year 2000 (Y2K) Compliant.
Unoverica Corporation defines a product to be Year 2000 Compliant if it does not produce errors in recording, storing, processing, and presenting calendar dates as a result of the transition from December 31, 1999 to January 1, 2000. A Year 2000 Compliant product will recognize the Year 2000 as a leap year. This Compliance is contingent upon third-party products exchanging date data with the Unoverica product properly and accurately, and in a form and format compatible with such Unoverica product.
Unoverica software processes dates only to the extent that the products use the date data provided by the host or target operating system for date representation used in internal processes, such as file modifications. Any Year 2000 Compliance issues resulting from the operation of the Unoverica products, therefore, are necessarily dependent upon the Year 2000 Compliance of the relevant host and/or target operating system. Unoverica has not tested all of such operating systems and therefore cannot assure that these systems and/or environments will manage and manipulate data involving dates before and after December 31, 1999, without any time or date related system defects or abnormalities, and without any decreases in functionality or performance. Additionally, Unoverica cannot assure that applications written using Unoverica products will be Year 2000 Compliant.
Internally, all Unoverica products measure time in seconds since the Epoch, which is defined as:
Epoch: The time and date corresponding to 0 in an operating system's clock and timestamp values. Under most UNIX versions and NetWare, the epoch is 00:00:00 GMT January 1, 1970. System time is measured in seconds or ticks past the epoch. The 1-tick-per-second clock of UNIX and NetWare is good until January 18, 2038.
There are no calculations involving a calendar date in any Unoverica products. Standard attributes use relative values with integer units rather than an absolute time value. Thus, Unoverica products will not be affected by the Year 2000.
